Forums - Microsoft - The new Samsung Omnia 7. Awesome phone.

Me and my Wife recently got new phones.

She opted for the new HTC Desire S Android phone. Very Nice piece of kit.

I opted for the Samsung Omnia 7 WP7 Phone.

Both phones replaced an IP3GS and a BlackBerry.

Niether the IPhone or Blackberry in all honesty holds a candle to either of our new phones.  And it's difficult to realy tell the WP7 OS or the Android apart in almost all areas.

What I will say is WP7 OS on thee Omnia 7 is the fastest phone Ive used yet. As my first WP I am surprised by how intuitive the Tile system really is. Something whichh on it's own is above all other Phone operating systems. Xbox Live integration is amazing. More games are to come, but there is currently now a great selection of games and Gamerscore. ;)

I also love the fact that one payment for music of £89.99/year gives me access to any music anytime on my Phone, PC or 360 as it's all linked to my Xbox Live account. Whereas my Wife has to pay £7.99/ Album via Androids and has to store it ( I dont have to store ).

Same with films. What I buy once I can stream or download on any device ( 360, Phone or PC ) all linked to my one Live account.

Apps are now just as abbundant as Androids although not quite what Apple has yet, but more are added on a hourly basis sometimes.

The screen is the best Ive seen with AMOLED, and is more responsive than my old IPhone.

Without a doubt, if you own a 360 and use Zune Marketplace that is a massive when choosing WP7 over any other martphone. The intergration is something no other Smartphone can do.

As touched on at the start the Hardware is fast. Everything is instant. The HD Video is great and the  camera is perfect.

Well worth looking into. IMO one of the best Smartphones on the market. And THE best if you use Xbox Live already.

Wait until Mango releases around october, that's when WP7 is going to get really fun.

Congrats on the Omnia 7, I've had mine since March and it is indeed a great phone.

Yeah I been looking at that. As I understand my current new phone will take thee updates without a hitch. :)

But I am really impressed with it so far. Both as a socialite and a 360 gamer the WP7 platform offers me so much more than any other Smartphone out. I'm shocked at how much BS there is on the internet around Smartphones. I put Iphone in the bottom pile after using Android, WP7, Blakberry and Iphone.

M$ deserve much more attention from where I'm sitting. And I have owned 2 Iphones. My WP7 does alot more and faster.

Yeah, wish my carrier had it, would have got it... Instead went for the LG Optimus 7.

While its just as fast and good as the Omnia 7 since its same specs and same OS, it doesn't have that eyeball melting screen.

That LG phone got great hardware reviews though. One of LG's most Robust phones in the past few years apparantly.

The wireless data transfer to the TV for Streaming is an awesome addiition. Have you used that yet?

I really want the Samsung Galaxy S2, I wonder how it compares to what you have, since you love it, and it is known to be a great phone.

As Ive not used it I cannot comment as such. I have used the the original. And it was a slickk phone.

But what I will say is Samsung build quality is excellent.

Yeah, works flawlessly on my HTPC using wifi. Check one box in your windows media player and its done... I like my LG a lot for sure. I will use it for at least another year but may not be able to resist the Nokia phones when they start rocking windows phone 7.

Yeah I think Thats when WP7 will really tak off. Nokiastill sells more phones even today than any other name. A good selection of Nokia Smartphones with WP7 should see SP7 jump in marketshare. I realy think Xbox Live with Zune Marketplace has a big future, and the big hurdle fo Apple. There is already a big install base on 360 and PC with Zune and Live. Incorporating that into WP7 was brilliant.
