Forums - Sony - Hacking Group: "It's the beginning of the end for Sony"

Did Sony kill their dog or something? Maybe insult their mother by using a 'round' joke? Sad sad people.

and I bet the people that got douped into spending $600 on a PS3

No one got 'duped'. Sony released a price based on their hardware and what they could afford. If people really didn't want the PS3 they wouldn't have bought it.

Additionally, it's not really a duping if they tell you the price up front and you still pay for it...

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

The group that claimed responsibility for last week's PBS website hack has claimed it is hacking Sony right now – and stealing "internal" information.

Call me skeptic but I don't buy it until they can produce the long form birth certificate of Howard Stringer.

All this 'Sony hate' is bullshit. These hackers don't genuinely hate Sony. There's not much to hate them for! As if Sony were going to lie down and let piracy rise on the PS3 just as they are beginning to decently profit from it.

They realise that Sony is a big company that gets a lot of coverage, and its online security is in the spotlight at this time. By going after Sony right now, the hackers get publicity and gain a reputation for being dangerous.

The pathetic thing is that these hackers are probably living in their mom's basement, unemployed and feeble!

Did anything happen yet?

Believe it or not, these hackers, along with the whole Anon thingamajig, the ones with real hacking ability and not just running premade scripts have real jobs and they likely get paid more than the majority of us here. People do get bored and do shit for giggles. Calling them names actually make you look silly, though.

I don't believe that. I can't image an employed professional (for example in the business sector) coming home at night, opening a beer and hacking Sony. Can you imagine a family man being a hacker? I can't.

And calling someone names makes me look silly? I disagee, and unfortunately I don't give a monkeys what people on the internet who don't know me, think of me.

Have you been living under a rock? Sony is particularly keen to pound on the "little guy" (see Lik Sang, George Hotz), they unapologetically infect their own customers' private PCs with malware (see rootkit scandal) and they remove features from their systems without giving anything back.

Most big corporations have skeletons in their closets, but Sony has been reaping particularly bad karma in the recent future.

The 'little guy' is a criminal who was losing these corporations (who employ thousands of people and pay a lot of tax) significant sums. They could have physically beat him for all I care.

The Rootkit scandal was....a scandal I agree. But it happened ages ago. This hacking can't be linked with it I believe.

Any, the other OS removal was completely justified. Also bare in mind that most of the PS community couldn't care less about it - the ones interested in piracy were likely furious.

Piracy is not good, and companies should do their best to stop piracy. When they do this, the hacking world needs to be mature about.

My opinion is that its 'cool' to hack Sony at the minute.

The little guy deserves to be smashed if he draws first blood.

With statements like this one I guess it's useless to argue, you're effectively (perhaps literally) a Sony shill.
