The more I think about it the giddier I get!!

Holy shit I can’t wait too see how Zelda, Mario, Metroid and Pikmin will look in HD! And I would love to see Endless Ocean as well. About 8 days left!

Its going to be awesome, no doubt about that. But it will also be a bit awkward. Hear me out, I'm all for HD but that cartoony style is Nintendo's trademark.

And I know they know that, so I don't think we will see a massive change. I mean I can't really see too many Nintendo franchises that could use HD. Aside from maybe Metroid and possibly Zelda. But I think we will just see a higher resoultion version of what we already have.

Think about it, are Nintendo going to change the colorful artstyle in Mario, probably not. Zelda is a bit different because on one hand we have 3D rendering and on the other we have cell shading. The 3D rendering version of Zelda will benefit greatly, whereas the cell shaded artstyle from WW is already amazing.

I personally will welcome the HD change but at the same time, do we need it? I mean its nice that its there but is it necessary, and if so will we lose some of the cartoony, colorful, zaney artstyle that is Nintendo?

The cartoony colorfull style will not go away it probably will be more detailed just think about those details in SMG :).

Love to see what Super Mario Galaxy HD would look like.

This is not the first time Nintendo will have high fidelity graphics at all, though.

The SNES, N64, and Gamecube were very high fidelity for the time, with the former two being the most powerful of their generations and the latter pretty close.  The Wii has been the only time they lagged behind.

That said, Smash Bros in HD will be marvelous :D

I'm still reasonably reserved, personally. I lack hype, not because of anything wrong with Cafe, i'm just trying to keep my expectations muted, and treat the next nine days or so just as the rest of them.

Definitely can't wait to see a zelda game in hd, it'll be amazing!

As thekitchensink pointed out, you really need to look at Nintendo's history.

And graphical fidelity is a shallow reason to get exicted about a game. As in it's caring about the games based on their appearance without taking artistry or content into account.

This was the kind of attitude I hoped the Wii and DS would kill.

And the cost increase that come with those graphics will come at the cost of content, because we've already see it happen.

definitely, would be even more awesome if they bundle in abonus of OOT nad Majoras mask completely redone in HD. =)
