Very nice purchase though. The mobile i7's eat through batteries very quickly, but the perfomance is worth it. Good stuff.

My 4 month old HP laptop I use as a spare already had a had drive failure, and my brother's (same model) is about to have the same problem. I'm thinking I can send them in and sell them for better laptop. You bought your's from best buy right? I've seen one that sounds that like

Yes thats the exact same laptop I got and so far i'm LOVING it....and its not a horrible price for what you get with it (as far as laptops go at least)

And I agree with Xen stay far far away from HP laptops lol.

Remember to update your Graphics card to the latest Beta drivers, it makes a massive difference in preformance.

I went from 6fps - 20fps to 40fps - 60fps on high.

I have a new 560Ti and it rocks :)

Oddly enough, I didn't notice a huge boost with the beta drivers, but there was some. Be sure to uninstall 3D Vision as well, since you're presumably not using it. That improves performance. And download the patch.

With all of that done, you could feasibly get high spec, if you turn off SSAO and motion blur.
