New Xbox 360 exclusive Action-RPG announced

Certain Affinity has announced that Crimson Alliance is in development and will be getting an official reveal later today over at the Rooster Teeth Fan Event!

The game will also be present at E3, where gamers can try a playable demo of the title.

The game’s official facebook page reveals that it is an Action-RPG title.

Crimson Alliance is the new action RPG from Certain Affinity! It takes everything we’ve learned about high action from working on shooters like Halo and Call of Duty, and everything we love about the fantasy genre, but gets rid of all that tedious backpack rummaging, and boring dialog!

They’ve also launched a teaser website for the game to mark the announcement.

Another Xbox 360 exclusive.

I'm getting tired of 360 getting so many WRPGs. I want a shooter for crying out loud.

Was this not a rumour last week? It was a Kinect game if i'm not wrong.

It's an XBLA title.

LOL

I agree.

Obviously I won't be getting this since I don't have the console but I'm curious what will come of it with statements like "gets rid of all that tedious backpack rummaging, and boring dialog!".  I imagine getting rid of the backpack rummaging could work similar to how it does in Mass Effect 2 where all of the equipment upgrades are done through upgrading weapon damage overall and everyonce in a while you get some actual new equipment.

The boring dialogue bit could be pretty inocuous, maybe they just mean their dialogue will be exciting, or more interesting would be if they tried to really minimize dialogue.  Only Action RPG I can think of with a similar idea was Deathspank but that minimized dialogue by keeping thigs to humorous one-liners while this looks like it won't go down that route.

TBH this all tells me that they'd better really hit the battle system out of the park because backpack rummaging is what makes Diablo as fun as it is and the supposed boring dialogue is part of what makes ME2 so amazing so I don't know how well a game that gets rid of both can do unless it really starts to become a full on action game like GoW.

Regardless, very cool of MS to let these guys step out on their own a bit and see what they can do, iirc these guys have been mostly working on map packs before this, or maybe I'm thinking of another development team.

...

Looks like XBLA

I'd Rather take an Action-RPG over a JRPG anyday, KEEP 'EM COMING
