That is damn close though!

Bigger question is - will PS3 drop under 10k in Japan? All3 consoles under 10k, has it happened yet? I can't recall.

Hehehe!

By the skin of its teeth, the PS3 doesn't yield to this Wii pricecut. But it could use one of its own!

They updated their numbers last quarter a week or two after Sony's financial report, so expect the update to happen this week, or the week after. ;)

well at least Wii is doing better and i dont know what the hell is going on with 3DS

I think they've withdrawn all marketing untill they can fix their shit with the DS/3DS similarities. We'll see a change in marketing at E3 most likely.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Wow poor wii even with a price cut it only managed to be in second place by just a fraction of a hair. I would have thought it would have gotten a pretty sizeable bump.

I don't think the price cut was effective WW, like in Australia. According to JBHIFI, MK Bundle for $188 (200 basically) on June 2nd.
