Yep the pre-orders are true since MS said about a week ago that Gears 3 had over 1 million pre-orders Worldwide.

Holy crap at Gears 3 numbers (0_o)  I would have never imagined it would be doing this good 3 months ago.    

at this rate gears is going to beat modern warfare 3 on both systems...it's a shame ps3 games can't even match half those numbers when they are just as good if not even better in terms of quality

OMFG Gears 3 is a MONSTER, my most anticipated game of the year by a mile.

Hopefully Infamous 2 has a great first week it looks like a phenominal game

Also wait till next week numbers go up, MW3 is going to be monstorous.

Where do you think it will place on the pre-order chart?

Well as a district we are seeing record numbers of pre-orders in the time frame its been available.  At my main store we had about 52 pre-order first week its been available.  We have around 6,000 domestic stores so if company wide saw similar results as my district it would be approx. 312,000 pre-orders for first week.  However I don't expect that high of number company wide.  I know my neighboring district saw slightly less and one of my other stores had about 30 opening week.

When all is said and done I would guess around 200k for first week pre-orders, could possibly be higher but I don't see how it could be much less.  Especially because that's just Gamestop, not counting Best Buy and Wal-Mart.

Keep in mind thats across 360 and PS3 so not a single platform. But yeah I'd be pretty shocked if we see sub 200k numbers posted across two platforms.

inFamous 2 isn't looking as hot as it deserves I think. I will consider the sales very disappointing if it doesn't at least beat the first game. I'm personally hoping for 500k FW but it all depends on Sony's marketing push (which has been very inexistant so far).
