This would certainly be amazing if true.  And since Nintendo's next Mario Kart is coming to 3DS first, Smash would be a great answer for multiplayer goodness on Cafe.

Personally I liked Brawl better than Melee simply because of the dynamic that the "final smash" element added.

So did I and the whole variety of characters that Melee lacked. It made Brawl even more fun to play with as a group.

i blame spiderman for this rumor.

If this has a good online ranked matchmaking system complete with leaderboards and some sort of achievement system this game alone would be enough to make me go buy a Wii 2 on launch day.

Let's just hope that Ninty goes a little more core with this system like all the rumors have been because Mario Kart and Smash Bros with great online matchmaking is nothing but pure win.

Well, I definitely would love to see this happen.  I've loved every single SSB game so far so this would be fantastic.  Game also has quite the large fanbase too as Brawl did over 2.7 million worldwide in its first week so this would be a huge game to come out for N6 considering it would probably be around the launch window given an E3 announcement. 

So this would be exciting, but got to say, it is pretty doubtful.  Last one came out early 2008 and the creator has been hard at work on other things.  Not like Nintendo couldn't use other sources to develop it, but just seems a little too early for another one right now to me.

WOW a new mario game......Nintendo are not playing safe at all......

It's wishful thinking that a new Smash Bros. will come out on day one. But if it does, then this will be a day one buy for me.

Bundle the next SSB with Project Cafe and I'm sold Day 1.
