honestly i think people are taking this fake image too seriously haha. the main thing i wanted t get across was the point that the cafe controller will most likely have a screen on it and was looking for peoples opinions on that. um i would hope nintendo uses real analog sticks because im not down with nubs either.

I like the idea, not that picture.

Switching your game over from the tv to the controller whenever you want is a brilliant idea. Many times I've wanted to do some b-spec races, assasin contract assignments or just browse the store and download a game while the tv is in use. Doing some sidequests on the controller, then switch back to the tv for the full experience in the main quest sounds great to me. Should be cheaper then my other option to buy a 60 inch 21:9 tv with dual tuner.

I would not want to play with that as it won’t be comfortable at all and it would easily break in my hands...

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

I like the concept of whats in there, but its ergonomically unsuitable to be a controller imo. Looks very uncomfortable to hold for extended periods of time.

The VMU was a brilliant idea for the Dreamcast because it was cheap, and it was good enough to aid gameplay by showing data in local multiplayer.

having a big colourful touch screen though?

That's just insane.

I LOVE ICELAND!

There's so much stuff on that controller that the battery life for it would suck.

I would be more open to the idea if the touch screen was not necessary. Looking back and forth from a tv to a controller screen, and also pushing buttons at the same time sounds very difficult.

To be honest, I don't think the controller will have a touch screen.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

i agree with this...a large touch screen on the controller could be really cool.  really, it would be a lot like the bottom screen of the DS.  the ergonomics on the pic in the OP look horrible though...definetly need to do something better than that.

I'm going to wait and see what becomes of this rumour, before declaring Nintendo collectively insane.

and this is exactly what people are doing wrong, even though I just said people are taking the pic seriously and even in myj thread title it says fake images which obviosly the images are FAKE.

Honestly, the idea is BRILLIANT!!! YEAH I SAID IT!!! People keep saying "Oh oh oh I don't want to keep looking down at my controller thats stupid." Ummm, why would you? The screen could be used as a map, an item screen, an alternate screen in case someone else is using the tv, many other ideas come on people's.

As for the ergonomics in the pics in my OP, well yes its horrible but its FAKE!!! LOL

I like the mock up in the OP much more than the IGN one but the main problem in both concepts is that you can't easily and effectively use motion controllers in those.

Just want to share with you two of my own ideas. The first one especially I think hasn't been used by anyone yet and could be a good way to tackle this problem:

And here is the second one which is less original except I like the idea of an additional base for the screen and I don't think anyone really used this idea either. This would also explain why the sensor bar is included in the controller. But honestly I prefer the first of my two concepts. What do you think? :
