Given the high number of job openings we’ve found lately, Microsoft must be having lots of big plans for Kinect. This time, the job opening found  is for a Software development engineer. Nothing extremely exciting until you read the job description:

A new team in IEB is developing innovative technology and services that will be used by Kinect enabled titles.

Among responsibilities:

Help create a new community site centered around Kinect developers and users.

and

Collaborate with Kinect and Xbox teams to develop next gen features for new titles.

Now this is getting interesting. Community site centered around Kinect developers and users? Next generation features for new titles? I want to hear more about these!

That makes sense. I think Kinect is their development priority because it allows them to differentiate from other consoles.

Great idea! Lets just hope they do better than sony has with the psblog suggestion thing.
