Pretty much this. I can't imagine what happened in Japan to cause this...Wii needs a price-drop, we know that, but ALL the consoles need a price-drop if this is the trend...

japan more often than not turns out to be a good leading indicator. if gaming is doing this bad over there now it just might mean gaming will be doing this bad everywhere soon. i hope not but things are not looking good...
It won't be long before Japan is bundled into MEAA and Europe and Australia form their seperate break-away group, hopefully. An all-time low for PS3, Wii and 3DS (and maybe DS) shows just how bad things have got over there. If Sony doesn't get a price-cut for the PS3 soon, they'll be in all kinds of bother over there soon as well...

All time low for the Wii and 3DS, maybe. PS3 has been waaaaaaaaaay lower

I think it was a few hundred the week before the slim launched - when the fat was out of stock. This is the all time low for the slim, though.
It seems once the casual bubble burst in Japan, things just went to hell there in the gaming industry. Before, the DS was doing over 100k per week and the Wii was doing 70k something per week. The top games were things like housekeeping diaries.
