Crysis 2 so far this year: Enjoyed the MP enough (though it has some hit detection/lag issues that were just recently fixed finally) and the SP was engrossing. Was also impressed that our current systems can handle such great graphics (especially the 360, I don't own a PS3) so it was nice.
The only two games I haven't played that I know I might like better are Dead Space 2 and Portal 2. I loved Portal 1 but don't have enough time/money to dedicate to Portal 2, so I'll probably be getting it next year. I am defenitely gonna get Dead Space 2 when the price is right because I loved the first one.
Only other game I can think of that was really good this year was MVC3 - I thought they wouldn't be able to pull off the magic they did with MVC2, but they came pretty close.
MK9 was great for the hardcore MK fans but I still feel It's too stiff of a game to match with the likes of SFIV.
Test Drive Unlimited 2, while having potentially more freedom then the first TDU, was the biggest dissapointment.
Honestly this year has been weak to me so far. Combine the inevitable holiday delays this holiday next Spring/Summer looks to be bigger, even with Mass Effect 3 and Ghost Recon alone. Also looking forward to SF x Tekken.
It's just that simple.
