so one site says that, most likely to becuase of some agenda.
i can point to many other sites, and sources like the dictionary, that say it means sex.
but if you feel like arguing words, i will just use the word sex.
you cant change you sex.
and by your definition, if some completely hetero sexual male, is somewhat feminine, then his gender is female.
or conversly a masculine women, is then male.
edit: reading the source again, it seems it is saying gender means, just masculine and feminine )arcording to that site).
never once have i heard the word gender be used that way, it always is asking whether, you are male or female, not are you masculine or feminine

Indeed...
in a society without gender rolls, there would be few "trans gendered" people.
In a society like this, there are tons... and they are often "beyond repair".
Generally though they do put you through 2 years of therapy and a "trial" run of what it would be like to be that sex where you have to "cross dress" for 2 years before they do operate anyway though.

I'm guessing you've never gone to college then. They tend to correct that around Sociology 101.

no, i just graduated highschool.
someone should tell the colleges to tell the dictionaries then.
also colleges are very... liberal institutions, so if they vey well may have used the word in that way in order to be more "accepting"
but so we can stop arguing words, i said i would use sex.
and on legal documents it asks for your sex, so even if someone cuts off their testes, and invert their penis, and take estragen, they are still a guy, and nothing they do can change that. their drivers lisence and such should feflect that.

It's got nothing to do with being liberal or conservative... and everything to do with using words correctly.

great input, if you want to drag on the issue with the word, sure go ahead, its rather pointless though.
dictionary definition says on thing, universities say another.
i already said i was talking about "sex" so what's your issue.
you cant change you sex. FACT. legal documents should not allow for you to list a different sex. no one can really have a sex change. FACT

Well, I was just saying that if the reason they feel like they don't belong in the body they were born in is because they don't identify with the gender roles that were forced on them since birth, then changing their sex isn't the answer. That would still be bowing down to opressive gender roles. The only reason why they're uncomfortable in their bodies is because they associate thei bodies with the gender roles forced on them, with which they don't identify.
