About time.  I'm particularly glad to see official game threads have been de-stickied.

It would also be nice if you guys could institute a limit on when such threads can be created (ie, a week before the game comes out or later), so that we don't end up with any new news about a game being posted in both new threads and the official thread.

Then we would have new threads created as new news appears, and later one megathread in which to talk about the game once it's out, as news has slowed and players are interested in discussing the game itself.

Of course, un-stickied official game threads are somewhat useless without a proper search function, given they're pretty hard to find once they disappear off the first page.

Hmm, I don't think so. I'm sure once you've played around with the new forums you'll see why the number of stickies is being severely restricted; they just aren't necessary for anything other than site announcements/competitions and the like, and won't actually benefit more than 3 threads at a time.
