Lol
I don't dismiss other markets, combined they are as if not more important.

How is the 360 doing puke? It's vastly up compared to last year yet PS3 still outsells it. |
Just 'cause he's running faster than before, you can't assume he's running fast.
“These are my principles; if you don’t like them, I have others.” – Groucho Marx
Same reason I bought one last year.
360 and PS3 have pretty much the identical libraries, therefore games are not much of a differentiating factor.
However, PS3 is not that much more expensive and it includes free online, browser, built-in batteries, and a bluray player. Which, for the small difference in price, makes it a better value to the average consumer who doesn't care about Halo or Gears.
Additionally, when everyone one you know has had to replace their 360 at least once, it doesn't really help.

now when it comes to emeaa the 360 isnt availeble in countries in asia and africa. so lets add up numbers without those regions. 360:44.8k ps3:60k thats about a 15k difference. now we dont know how significant the sales in those countries in asia and africa are. because if the me gives us half of those sales and the significance would be minimal because the ps brand is huge their, and because the 360 is very poorly supported in that region. also you cant count out japan its still important. |
I counted out Japan because it makes most of the difference. Remove 360 Japanese sales or keep it there the results are almost the same. I don't remove it because I think it's a non important market, but because to the PS3 domination even if you remove Japan from 360 the PS3 still has the same difference so it's irrelevant in 360's case.
Then we're left with your calculation about EMEAA which we agree on.
Imo a 15k difference spread across countries where PS3 is more implemented or the only HD console to be sold is not domination.
Add all markets bar Japan they're almost selling on par. Now add Japan and PS3 is king, in the end PS3 sells better because it's selling in more countries and because the 360 has no presence in Japan, that's my response to the thread... and it's imo.

Playstation is the King of 3rd party. They know what makes them pop a boner.
Always have.
