ok seriously now the 3DS doom wagon has gotten way out of hand.
3DS tested the waters of launching without a killer 1st party app, in a horible economy, and its not even internet capable yet. Theres no reason to own one already unless you are the hardest of the core.
Its not going anywhere though, and Ninty wont be releasing any 1st party DS games inthe future (outside of the odd stragler project maybe).
edit: could they scap it OP? Are you suggesting Ninendo would be doomed if they pulled support for 3DS?

Man I'm the hardest of the core. Cool been called a fanboy before but Hardest of the core sounds way better. I bought 3DS because Nintendo makes the best software and hardware in the industry I continue to enjoy my 3DS because it has some great content on it and offers experiances no other device does. Honestly Rayman, Ghost Recon and Nintendogs are enough to make the 3DS a competant system software wise.
Everyone saying the software line-up is horrible. The DS launched with a far weaker software line-up as did the GameCube. Arguably if you don't count a single Mario or Zelda game Nintendo has never launched a console with an amazing software line-up. Yet DS if I remember correctly met and soon exceeded Nintendo's expectations.
I don't think in any way that Nintendo is even considering a scrap, I just asked could they if the hardware bottomed out. It was a hypothetical question and if you read the OP then you would know that.
Could Nintendo scrap 3DS? You should have read my reply and answer to that very question
"No Nintendo can't afford to take such a blow to their reputation and damage relations with developers and investors. But financially Nintendo does have enough capital to take such a blow if they ever decided to scrap a console."
