Hi guys... no it's not another PS3 undertrackezzzz thread... this time is just for the game Pro Evolution Soccer 2010.
I was reading some old news about games sales in Brazil and found the article from 7th July 2010:
http://jogos.uol.com.br/ultnot/multi/2010/07/14/ult530u7924.jhtm
The article in Portuguese Brazil with a good amount of text on the taxes collected here... but that not the point of this thread... the onlu important paragraph is (free translation):
"Today, [a release of a game considered good] sells in Brazil on the official market eight to ten thousand units, " Macedo said. "A game like God of War III, we have information that Sony sold 30 thousand units. "
To illustrate the importance of price, Macedo said: "Pro Evolution Soccer 2010, the latest edition of Konami's soccer game, has sold 600,000 units in Latin America due a promotion: the game came to Brazil in May for R$99 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii (and R$59 for the PlayStation 2 edition, one of the most popular consoles in the country). With this, Brazil accounted for 42% of sales in Latin America, or 252,000 copies."
So just in Latin America the game PES 2010 sold 600k units (shipped I guess) and 252k just in Brasil... for PS3, 360, Wii and PS2 combined. This data was from 7th July 2010.
Today VGC had for Americas:
PES 2010 (PS3): 290k
PES 2010 (360): 100k
PES 2010 (Wii): 110k
PES 2010 (PS2): 110k
PES 2010 (ALL AMERICAS): 610k
How can a game sold 600k just in Latin America... and VGC shows 610k for Americas (LA, US, Canada, Mexico, etc)... Latin America (or Brazil) is not the biggest market in Americas.
So I say UNDERTRACKED.
What do you think? I guess other games had the same problem here (for all consoles).
PS. Just to know PES is way bigger than FIFA here.
Sorry by the English... I'm not very good at writing a lot of text.
