The cut to $150 is official I think the cut to $169 was just the stores doing it because they wanted to,  I expect the official one to be more effective.

Looks like the PSN hack didn't plummet the sales of the PS3, as some had thought/were hoping.  Sony is going to weather this storm just fine.  And just imagine what will happen after the cut to $249.

I can already smell the day ps3 becomes 2nd LOL!

God dang ps3 in sales and this with PSN issues and being the most expensive console in the market ROFL!

PSP right behind ps3 while Wii is dead last is just WTF!

Yup. Wii sales are dropping because people know the price cut is coming. Sales will increase after that. The Wii should get a nice surge, even moreso once Zelda is released.

It'll happen after the XBox 720 gets released. Over 85 million people own the Wii and by the end of the year there will be over 90 million. The PS3 will never be 1st this gen. the Wii is still 1st. I hope Microsoft drops the XBox 360 Arcade to $99 and includes Gears 3 this holiday. lol!! I would even buy one at that price. If I was managing the price of the Xbox 360, I would definitely do that.

Wii could be more like 94M end of year after the price cut and software like zelda.

Actually, the sales are dropping because of loss of interest.  Only a die hard gamer that follows sales would have suspected that a price cut was coming.  Your average gamer/shopper wouldn't know that.  I would imagine this price cut to give it an alright boost, probably move it to 2nd for a few weeks to come, but it will see the larger boost during the holidays.

Yeah, but he never said the PS3 would be first, so that's moot. Reaching 2nd, however, isn't out of the question (even though I think it might not happen).

A $99 360 this holiday is unlikley. $149 4GB Kinect model, $229-$249 Kinect 250GB bundle seem more likley.

Even your prices seem way to low.  A $149 Arcade with Kinect?  That's not going to happen.  If anything it would be a $149 Arcade by itself, with a 4GB Kinect bundle for $249.  And the elite should drop to $249, with a Kinect Bundle for $349. 

MS may want to stay in 2nd pretty bad, but not that bad.
