Just want to say that's very good Portal 2 on PS3 numbers.  I suspect this is the best performance by a developer previously seen as 360 centric (on console ignoring PC) arriving on PS3.

Valve did pretty much everything they could, from Gabe on stage eating humble pie, to free PC/Mac versions to making sure the title was extremely polished on PS3, and the results are clear.

Epic and others who stumble in this approach should really take note.  The ratio of sales for Portal 2 vs Bulletstorm is very illuminating in terms of what works best.

Amazing to see both 360 and PS3 doing so well.  360 showing better % growth due to tracking against pre-slim model and Kinect (not that the boost isn't good) and PS3 doing well despite being past its slim spike and back to normal organic growth.

Now let's see how PSN-gate affects things - if it does.  Still in two minds whether we'll see a hit in sales or not at this point.

so you mean dont trash the ps3 and its users when releasing a multiplat for it, and actually give them a reason or incentive to buy your game. making them think you actually put effort in that version.

ohh and dont release the same day as Killzone.

bulletstorm couldve been a million seller, if they werent idiots about it. they handles it terribly

YOY with the all important %'s:

Wii: DOWN 82k or DOWN 39%

PS3: UP 9k or UP 6%

360: UP 49k or UP 48%

360 is re-writing the rules.

and what rules are those?

if they are that its selling more in its later years compared to past consoles and we should bow down in amazement then no i will not be in aww with you and the rest

who ever is giving you that information has taken you for a long ride most likely some article on here or in some sales annalist article/thread

something along the lines of nes snes ps1 ps2 had there peak sales at X time frame so that means that 360 PS3 ect. will as well its kinda like the stuff with just b/c US has a certain amount of sales then that means a certain % of that will give you the rest of NA for all 3 consoles, i dont believe in none of these formulas

what all those articles have failed to mention is that none of those consoles launched at a high price of what the 360 and ps3 did there was no online gaming FPS partys then either what we are seeing with the 360 and soon with the ps3 is the mass market pricing point or the shit the leo-j keeps talking about mixed in with one of my beliefs of mass market price for the value point

360 hit that with the new slim line 250gb for 299, for gods sake thats when trey for life elpersador himslef bought one at that time had that happened earlier or even later in 360s life span then today we wouldnt be seeing yoy gains we are

theres also another formula that i believe in its called mass market price piont plus price for the value point exhaustion this occurs after a console reaches MMPP PFTV  this phenomenon occurs once the consumers are exhausted of purchasing the said product after that period of time and may feel that theres no more MMPP PFTV either b/c of no meaningful SW releases, changes in the industry, or other decisions we have seen it for the wii and i believe will soon see it for the 360

i believe that the PS3 hasnt even seen mass market price point plus mass market price for the value point yet and when it does you can bet your bottom dollar that it will see the same if not better results

Well... I was tyring to sugar coat it.  But not talking trash about exclusives on the other platform and generally behaving as if you actually want to harm your chances is what I was referring to indeed.

Bulletstorm on PS3 has I suspect the worst ratio of any multi FPS with 360.  Most sell okay on PS3 (more on 360) and Bulletstorm was glaring in how badly it sold.

Personally I just felt sorry for the People Can Fly Guys.  They made a fun game then the company that purchased them more or less scuppered its chances on PS3 (and didn't really push it well on 360 IMHO).

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

yes, they completely blundered the release.

who ever the people that do their marketing and/or PR deserves to be fired.

there is no reason for  a game of decent quality like bulletstorm should be sitting at .18 million on ps3. (but looking at the xbox version, it doesnt seem to be doing to great either.

but other developers, take note of what valve did with portal, thats how you do it.

i wasnt even interested in getting portal at all when i heard about it. but with all the time and effort that they put into it, and the incentives they gave me, pushed me into buying it. So what they did, gave them at lest one sell they wouldnt have had.

No update yet : http://www.polyphony.co.jp/english/list.html

Is one expected soon?

Yes to the end of April but Sony has delayed its financial results... so PD could be waiting Sony to make official first.

Okay so it looks like the Wii still needs a fairly major adjustment down.

PS3 and 360 are rather amazing.

DS is beating the 3DS. lol.

PSP still needs a slight adjustment up too, I seem to remember someone saying at least...? Someone must clarify for me

OT:
As things should be.

nintendo domination in consoles and portables flew out of the window

Good numbers for PS3, can't say the same for 3DS.
