Fans are Fans.... If it were a new zelda (and if I didn't have a 3DS already), i'd buy it for that (as I did for the DS).

Now it's a remake, but many are as in love with that one as I am with the first one... so yeah they'll buy the improved version and the console that goes with it.

Anyways the Nint nostalic boost will come with Kid Icarus (day 1 for me =)

i believe ocarina of time 3d to give the 3ds a 5 week boost and stop this talk for awhile of being doomed and such.

i believe the 3ds is just going through a software drought , so the sales will go to the levels that nintendo and others expected it to from the start. 

also ppl complaining about its price as a factor , more than software for ppl not buying the system, then dont even expect the ngp to be a selling monster at its start either then.

From the get-go, it's been understood that OoT3D will give a minor boost at release, with little seen in the long-term.

Just like almost every single other one of Nintendo's games, it's the legs that are going to count. Yes, the 3DS will see a bump when it first releases, but the greater effect will be the game's contribution to the 3DS library in general. With OoT3D added to the 3DS's repertoire, potential buyers will be seeing that much more value in the 3DS's library. It may not be the single aspect that sells most people on the 3DS, but it will help serve as the sixth or seventh reason for most people, helping to sell them on the system.

In the end, it WILL have major effects on the system's sales, but only as a secondary affector.
