The fact that the Playstation Network has been down for five days now is troubling for many PS3 and PSP owners. However, even more troubling may be whether or not any credit card or personal information was affected by the "external intrusion" of the network. According to spokesman Satoshi Fukuoka, Sony has not yet been able to determine if the credit cards or personal information of users has been hacked. He did tell PC World that the company is conducting a "thorough investigation" into the outage that includes whether or not credit cards and personal information was compromised. Fukuoka also said that Sony would contact users immediately if that is the case. Sony has declined to give any additional information about the attack other than to say that they are rebuilding PSN and that it is a time intensive process. No estimate has been given of when the network will be back up. Some reports suggest that the attack on the Playstation Network was so deep that servers were damaged and Admin Dev accounts were hacked. If true, it doesn't seem far-fetched that credit card and personal information could have been hacked as well. http://www.examiner.com/console-gaming-in-national/status-of-credit-card-and-personal-information-unknown-wake-of-psn-breach
