So what, it still needs to be done. Yes, there will be tons of cross platform bewee the wii2/ps3/360, but it ends there.
yes until the 720 and ps4 comes out
Then they will be wii2/ps4/X720.
for the crappy port would go to the wii 2 when the 720 and ps4 specs and horsepower commence
Do you really think Sony and MS want to bleed money again, and are going to subsidize behemoths?
If not, then the difference will be orders of magnitude smaller than this generation. I didn't see so many guys criticizing the PS2 as it got the worst ports by far of that generation.
The PS2 did not criticized because they also got all the exclusive games as well.
I will bet you right now the next PS3 will be at least 10-20x more powerful than the Wii2.
I don't bet, but I can assure you that it won't be 10-20 times more powerful than the Wii2, the foundries are having a nightmare keeping with the moore's law, and 2 years give you now less than 2x the processing power. Sony won't commit suicide.
Unless you realize Nintendo will not be using up to date tech. They never do. I see a some great new ways of playing games, decent graphics if not better than PS3, but will feel old in a matter of a year.
Even then, Sony (and MS) wouldn't want to fight against a thermal and reliability nightmare that a overspecced (as X360 and PS3 were) console could provide with this generation foundries technology. Take a look at the top notch graphics cards, while 2 generations ago they used to dissipate ~170W, top of the hill graphic cards dissipate nowadays ~300W. That's because we're fighting physics walls here, and you can't dissipate so much power in the small housing of a console (that provides RROD and YLOD problems) This is another reason why this generation has to extend, the foundry advance has slowed in a big way. If 360 and PS3 used to dissipate ~200W when launched, that would mean ~350W in the new generation, and I'm sure they wouldn't want to do so, while Wii dissipates less than 20W, and Nintendo has much wider margins to increase this value if they want.
I can assure you something, Café will be more powerful than Wii comparatively, and PS4/X720 will be less powerful than their precedents comparatively.
