not a deal breaker for me. but stylus sucks for camera control in FPS and any 3d platform game. was just ok in MP Hunters, sucked in mario 64ds, sucked in KH 358 and sucked in just about any FPS ive played on DS. We'll see how the gyroscopes work

I never had a problem with Metroid Prime Hunters, that's about the only FPS I've played on the DS.

It's been said but, if you don't play FPS, having a second analog slider would just be big waste of space on an already crowded handheld. I don't remeber any games besides FPS on PS1 I ever HAD to use both sticks on the dual shock besides Ape Escape. It would be great to have every control type on everything, but that just doesn't make sense.

i got used to it but i would definately prefer another one. at the moment there are only 4 (i think) vertical cameras to chose from while horizontal is fully rotational. it should be that we can rotate the camera how and where we like and thats easy with a second thumb stick. |
I never had too much of a problem with MH on the PSP either, however that control scheme cannot be truly replicated on the 3DS because of the D-Pad and analogue stick locations.
On the PSP, the analog stick is below the d-pad. Therefore one can control the analog stick with their thumb and the d-pad with their index finger, the so called 'MH Claw' (which I took quite a while to get used to). However, on the 3DS the d-pad and analogue stick postions are the opposite to that on the PSP. The 'MH Claw' can only work on the 3DS if the D-pad is used for movement, while I highly doubt Capcom will do. This is what I meant by the control scheme for MH is likely to change, maybe something involving items mapped to the touch screen?

ahhh yes.... the 'MH claw'....i use that method except i never knew it was called that, my friend showed me when i was whining about the controls too much but ever since, i expect every game on psp to be controlled like that.

then you see....

its the wrong way around. nooooooo
Well I've learnt my lesson from the PSP and I definitely ain't gonna play any shooters on the 3DS.

I think exactly the opposite, COD4, dementium, Moon, prime hunters, the touch screen is great for aiming, maybe is just that I am a pcgamer too...

meh, whatever. The touch screen is fine for camera control.
Frankly, I don't see how just using R and L to rotate the camera isn't already fine as it is. It worked for Dragon Quest IX and Pokemon, and it should work for 3DS games. Heck, they could even add the option to hold down L Button and use the analog stick to rotate the camera.
And aside from rotating a camera or aiming a gun in a FPS, I don't see much use for a second analog stick.
