I believe that's an example of British vs. American English. On topic: No, I think that Rare will never be more than "pretty good" without the synergy it clearly had with Nintendo.

 Under British usage, collective nouns (i.e. companies) are often treated as plural.

Rare will never be as good as they once were. All of their great staff have left a long time ago. The only thing that is still valuable with them is their licensed IP's. I would love for Nintendo to buy those though.

Banjo, Perfect Dark, and Jet Force Gemini would be perfect on the Wii if done by Nintendo.

 as much as I would love Conkers Bad Furday2... I'm sorry. it sucked for the x-box. The original nintendo version was 10x better. Multiplayer on the nintendo was AMAZING. x-box... sucked.

I think BK3 will be Rare's most successful game since the N64 days. I think that because I have a feeling that Microsoft's advertising budget for the game will rival or even surpass that of Gears of War.

Microsoft realizes that they need to have some very successful family friendly games if they're ever going to break out from the current Xbox 360 demographic of adult male hardcore gamers. BK3, if Microsoft pulls out all the stops with it's production and advertising budgets could become a mascot game for the system and help to achieve that goal.

Imagine if the Banjo Kazooie franchise became to the Xbox brand what the Sonic franchise was to the Genesis.
