Forums - Nintendo - finally played 3DS and.....

i like it, i know im late to the party but i played it at Gamestop while picking up my copy of Portal 2. I played SSF4, the 3D is what i expected it to be, it didnt blow my mind, i understand people not liking having to put on the 3d glasses, but IMHO the 3D ive seen in movies and on the TVs is way better, it doesnt even compare, its like comparing s PSP to a GBA.  Im not saying the 3D in 3DS is bad but to me the pop out effect is much better than the whole depth thing. Maybe i just need to see a 3D heavy game. What did blow my mind was the analog nub, take note SOny this is how its done. i picked Ryu and was doing dragon punches, fireballs and hurricane kicks like it was 2nd nature. Capcom really outdid themselves, oh sure the static backgrounds suck but whatcha going to do? Hell i was even doing supers without the help of the noob touch screen buttons(i hate those).  All in all i have no complaints, im waitng for either a price drop or 3 games that i really want before i take the plunge

So YOU didn't like 3D in the 3DS and claim PSP is superior to GBA... What a shocker...

Yeah the analog nub is really nice, in fact it enhances many DS games that relied on 8 point directional movement like Okamiden and Super Mario 64 DS.

Glad you enjoyed it, and hopefully by the years end 3DS will have a great lineup. Cave Story, Mercinaries, and OoT will make for great summer games... and hopefully Mario Kart can make it out by years end. Slim chance Paper Mario can make it too...

Interesting, my first game was also SSFIV on 3DS =p.   Was not blown away, for me it is waiting for DOA dimensions but it is possible that I am going to wait until the new MK(Mario kart) release :).

Nope, the 3D in the 3DS is better. No glasses, and you can see clear picture quality. Games that do have pop up really do a nice job, like pilotwings air when you turn it.

@morenoingrato  never said i didnt like it, but i dont love it. im indifferent to it.

@dany612 if you think its better then good for you, i havent seen anything yet to lead me to believe that it is better than glasses, and ive never had a problem with picture quality with glasses

Am I the only one who never seen a 3ds in person???

@homer head over to a Gamestop or bestbuy or any large retail store they should have one. its pretty good, im more excited for the hardware upgrade than the 3d

At GameStop is Street Fighter the only game you can play?

Super Street Fighter IV 3D is a fun game, but is certainly not a show case for the 3D effect. The 3D effect is pretty unimpressive for that game. I think you should check out Pilot Wings Resort or the AR games to get a real sense of how the 3D works. Not saying that will change your impression, just that I think those games are more representative of what the 3DS is capable of 3D wise. So far I'm enjoying the system, but I am ready for the e-shop and June releases to get here.
