Well the team is pretty small and their work is volunteer work, well most of the writers at least.

That's what happens when you don't have hired writers.

God bless Machina and Torrillian, this site probably wouldn't have reviews if it wasn't for those two.

They switched the review system to volenteers, thought there was some weird per click thing so it wasn't totally vonlenteer?  Either way i'd buy some games and volenteer to review em.  Cept i'm broke haha.

Well, yes, it's an issue, but there's a very easy way of fixing it...

Which is...

obviously by boycotting third party Wii developers, so that they are magically forced to put more effort in them and thus increase the stream of amazing new game releases which leads to us (VGC) being able to review them.

simple.

Kidnap Wii/PSP/DS Reviewers from a variety of sites...

But on a serious note really Machina pointed it out the main problems and why sadly with the games coming out on these 3 as of late theres not much to be done.

Former something....

Or just convince reviewers to play anything.  Though I suppose that's hard when you have to put your money into doing it.

I think I prefer a lot of other people's ideas really, but, well...

How about allowing everyone to write a review? You know, every month write a list of games which are avaliable for us that you want reviewing, then everyone writes reviews who have purchased that game. At the end of the month, the best review will be picked and published on the site, and the score could be taken, say, from the average, just ignoring the top value and the bottom one as well.

Writers will still be doing certain reviews, as they are now, so maybe a 'user review' could be put in the title or something.

By doing this, you aren't making anyone else writers, nor are you paying for any more content, but you will be getting a lot more reviews written. Just a thought, but if people ar really that annoyed by the lack of reviews, I think it could well work.

I for one would be happy reviewing, say, Conduit 2 when I get it tomorrow, and I'm sure a lot of other people would as well. People will buy these games because they want to play them, so there's no need for review copies either.

Well I suppose you're right there...it was just an idea and I don't write reviews so I don't know how the system works...

Also, as regards to the whole number of reviews per console thing, most sites have done at LEAST 1 WiiWare review in the past 6 months, I don't think this site has. Whilst anyone will tell you the Wii/DS lineup is inferior to that of the HD consoles, it still doesn't mean that when good games come they should be overlooked (a good example being Okamiden infact).

Like I said, I don't know how it all works, so it would probably be impossible to implement. At least user reviews are coming in though, so even if the staff can't write the reviews, they'll still be some for people to use.

There's always the option of adding more writers, but then it's possible the quality of reviews on the site would either dip or take excessive editing, or pay the staff per review, but then the site would lose money, and I believe that's already been mentioned...

No WiiWare games, but we've certainly covered plenty of retail Wii titles in the last 6 months:

Mario Sports Mix
Lost in Shadow
de Blob 2
Disney Channel: All Star Party
Super Mario All-Stars
Disney Epic Mickey
Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles
Call of Duty: Black Ops
GoldenEye 007
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Sonic Colo(u)rs
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II
Just Dance 2
NHL Slapshot
NBA Jam

Any 'good' retail releases missing?

You make it sound as though we're not reviewing anything on Nintendo consoles and neglecting them. It's absolutely not the case.

We're not going to use user reviews as official reviews. If it means a gap in the library (e.g. Okamiden) then so be it. All review sites have gaps. However, like I said earlier in the thread, we're going to be recruiting more reviewers (I actually just looked over an application that's likely to be accepted a few minutes ago).

P.S. Reviewers are paid by hits.

I thought you said reviewers were volunteers...

Also, if you must know, Kirby's Epic Yarn.

But I said right from the get-go I was fine with the number of reviews. It was other people who were moaning, and I was just coming up with a solution as opposed to just complaining. Otherwise nothing will ever get done.

I'm well aware that Nintendo consoles aren't getting neglected. It's because of a lack of quality titles, I get that. So I'm fine with that, but it would have been nice to get a Fluidity/Cave Story/Bit.Trip /VC review

Reviewed on the 19th of October, so it was before the 6 month period.

My point is, I suspect they didn't have the full facts, and I'm trying to get those across.

Oh.I thought it was reviewed actually!

I knew the facts. And you've got them across. But people will still complain, there's nothing that you, me, ioi, anyone can do to stop that

Aside from Nintendo systems getting more compelling SW of course!

Also, Cave Story review you requested - http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/review/27363/cave-story/

Is this the last reviewed WiiWare game?

Also- I forgot it was released so much earlier in America >.<

No wonder I didn't see the review just when it was released then!

EDIT***

Just seen And Yet It Moves. So there isn't a lack of reviews. Just not lately. But you can't review something which isn't there!

Yeah, And Yet It Moves is probably the last one, and it's one of mine ;)

edit - I forgot Sonic 4 - http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/review/43103/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-1/

Sonic 4 isn't WiiWare exclusive though

And Yet It Moves is a well written review and pretty accurate. Nice job.
