Ace of Spades is only a couple of weeks old, but it's already started to gain popularity around the internet. Despite having unreliable servers, and every other player being named "Deuce" (play the game, and you'll see what I mean), the owner of the game has had to work quickly in order to keep the servers running due to high levels of demand.
In Ace of Spades, two teams (Green and Blue) are fighting against each-other in a large map full of hills and streams. The objective is to dig tunnels, build bridges (and of course, shoot the enemy), in order to capture the enemy intelligence and bring it back to your base.
A simple idea, but the use of Minecraft-esque graphics seems to give the gameplay a little more charm. However, it's not as bright and colourful as Minecraft, since the creator wanted to give it a WW1 feel to it. You can hear your uniform moving as you run over the hills, and the grass is in various, darker shades of green.
Although it's a bit awkward to join a server at the moment, I definitely recommend giving it a try. It's got great potential to improve into a brilliant game. You've just got to download the file, and PLEASE enter the configuration file and change your username from "Deuce" into something else. xD
