Forums - Gaming - StarFox MP Ideas

First let me just say I didnt bother with the two Gamecube ones, so if I say something that they already tried sorry!

Anyways, some of us would like a Star Fox game at some point in the future. Whether that be on the next Wii or its successor. Lets Share some ideas on how Co-Op could be made really fun.

For one I think MP against up to 8 people could be really fun. With 8 people it would take a pretty huge airspace for this to happen, but at the same time there is more than enough people to fill that space and make it interesing. There coudl even be teams. This would probably have to be online as who has room for 8 people for one console.

I guess for local they could make the maps a bit smaller and reduce it to 4 and even have just plain dog fights.

They could add power ups during these MP games and even have different Wings to fly.

They could add a couple tracks and do races too.

They could do a split screen campaign and see who gets the most points in each stage.

Anyways, I know not all that creative, but I never claimed to be! heh

Whats your ideas?

Bah wrong section ment for Nintendo forums owell.

I actually quite liked the multiplayer on SF Assault, much more than I did the single player (though I still believe it is an underrated game all together).

I would love 12 or 16 player dogfights with customisable player/team emblems that appear on landmasters/Arwings.  Something not dissimilar to Mario Kart DS.  I also want a variety of multiplayer modes

Like the user above I actaully enjoyed assault MP too. I hope the new SF follows in that style of all forms of combat thing.

to be honest i dont care as long as we get a new Star Fox

Yeah, I loved Assault as a whole, but spent way more time playing MP on then I thought I would. I would love to see some kind off cool co-op MP during the main campaign, maybe with the ability to use ground and air vehicles using split screen. As far as competitive muli-player, as long as the controls are tight, not much beats just a good ol fashion dogfight. I don't need tons of power ups or capture the flag stuff, like with a FPS, a good dogfight that may last 5 minutes before one guy gets the better of the other is much more interesting as it combines the action and stategy very well.

I want to kill slippy over and over again as well.

LISTEN TO THE FIRST WORLD PODCAST REAL GAMERS, REAL AWESOME

I was very addicted to star fox 64 the greatest game i played not including mario house 64.

The problem I've had with Star Fox is how different the multiplayer is from the campaign. You effectively change it from an on rails game into an Ace Combat type with free movement, and that's simply not why I play Star Fox to begin with. In keeping with the spirit of things:

Dual cockpit Co-Op: Someone controls the ship with the Wiimote held sideways, the other aims and shoots.

Dual ship Co-Op: Occupy the same space and try not to bump into the other ship as you play

Tag: Became a freaking mod and a complete douche, coincidentally, at the same time.

If they made another Stafox like the Super Nintendo version with multiplayer, new stages and bosses I'd buy it.

Dual cockpit would be sweet.  I would suggest doing it like the cobra from battlefield 2 where the driver could also fire a weapon but the passenger would have more mobility to shoot all around with a different weapon instead of just firing the way the Arwing is facing.  Co-Op campaign like this could be cool as well.  Not sure how you'd balance it with all of the extra firepower, but I'm sure they could get creative.

Just take a page from Star Fox Command on DS--that game has sweet multiplayer!

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
