Forums - Sales - Super Street Fighter IV 3DS Ships 1 Million Units! First 1 million selling.

Well it is doing pretty well considering that Streetfighter 4 came out 2 years ago and Super Street fighter 4 has been out for a  year.

Hopefully Capcom allows adds an Arcade Edition DLC for 3DS users.  That will help keep the sales going.

Most anticipated games of 2011:

Uncharted 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Rocksmith

Modern Warfare 3, Super Mario 3D

This will surpass units sold for the home consoles, and it might even out sell them combined!

Meanwhile, only a third of that has sold to consumers... gross overestimation of demand.

Or this site isn't doing that great of a job? I always find it strange in the EU market. (This applies to all consoles)

That's one thing but Capcom on the other hand is master of overshipping altrough at least this time they have good chance to sell it over time without diving into <10 pounds price range like Dar Void or Lost Planet II did.

And the home console version is at 3.5 million.

So not sur ehow it's going to beat out SFIV 0_o

Hahaha, that one, I didn't even check... I knew it was a lot, like 2 millions of, but not that much. Well, that cuts its chances by the knees.

Brand new console launching alongside old game > brand new game launching alongside old consoles

We'll see what happens soon enough, id give it 2 years and then we'll see.

I'll give it five, it still doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell.

Yeah, his point is stupid considering SFIV has already proven itself ...

Whos point is stupid? Im not saying the game hasn't proven a success on the HD consoles, im saying that you're incapable of acknowledging that the lifetime of a console has a direct proportional relationship to the sales.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Am I?

I don't see what it has to do with anything, I've not said the sales are bad. I'm just arguing why it's unlikely SFIV3DS will come close to the the HD home console version.

Also shouldn't it be SSF4 (360) SSF4 (PS3) vs (SSF4 - ED edition). Which is less then 2 million. Since all titles are SUPER version of the game.

So it might be the best selling SSF4 version, and might beat them combined.

No? SSF sold less than SFIV on consoles for very obvious reasons.

This is the 3DS's main SF, like SFIV on consoles were. You can't compare a main release (which it is) to a game that's been rereleased.

Don't you think SSF4 on 3DS has way less sales potential as it's an old game already released on multiple other platforms? If anything, both comparisons are far fetched, not only the one that least suits your argument.

Why not? I can understand the main game arguement, but they are part of the Super brand.

I think that is better, since both come later and are more complete, I am pretty sure in the PR statement release, Capcom is going to state that this is the best selling Super Street Fighter version as well. Also even if it does only outsellf SSF4 (360)  and SSF4 (PS3), wouldn't that be impressive? It can also be the best selling single platform release of street fighter 4 as well. However I doubt it will beat 3.5 figure.

However I think the other guy was talking about 3.5 million figure, so you were arguing with him and he agreed to that basis.
