To be honest, so far this year my playtime has been dominated by my two handhelds, especially the DS. Pokemon Black and Okamiden has completely taken over my playing time. And now that I've got my new laptop that actually has some power under the hood, I'll be catching up on some great PC games like StarCraft II.

The only console game I've bought this year was Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary Collection, and that's a game that was released last holiday season. It's been a mediocre year thus far as far as my taste goes for consoles... and that's including 360 too.

As for Nintendo... I don't get what happened. Holiday 2010 was one of the best times to be a Wii owner, and the only thing that's even interested me remotely thus far for their console in 2011 is Lost in Shadow, a niche pseudo-platformer that's received mediocre reviews.

3DS lineup looks great... but thus far Wii has some slim pickings. I bet everyone is developing for Wii's holiday period, when hardware and software sales start booming.

So yeah... If you're a Wii60 owner who's not a fan of FPS... there's not much to 2011 thus far. Thank goodness for Pokemon.

There is very little for me in that lineup, but as many others I also have a BIG backlog pending. Still I am buying Conduit 2 next week and checking out Thor because it looks fun and is slowly becoming a posibility.

I just hope that they announce Xenoblade for Q3 and The Last Story for Q4 and I will be very, very happy.

Alright, but I hope this is the LAST THREAD created on this topic...

 

So, I think it's, as you said, the same as last year. Not great, no. But Conduit 2 will settle me down quite nicely. And I can catch up on Epic Mickey, DKCR et al in this time if I need to. 

Later in the year we'll have Zelda, Xenoblade, and who knows what at E3. I mean, who would have guessed we'd get Goldeneye, DKCR, Wii Party and Kirby's Epic Yarn LAST YEAR?

And 3rd party support is good. Sure, they're focusing on the 3DS, but I'd like to see the other companies line-ups when they launch a new console...

 

I feel like a broken record. But I'm fed up of all this doom. And I know loads of others are as well.

Purely subjective. Personally I think the Wii is the best console and it certainly has the most playtime...2,500 hours compared to 400 for the 360 and 300 for the PS3...

Well, you're one of those strange people who choose to buy  garbage like Fragile, Sonic and The Conduit and don't own Mass Effect 2, God of War 3, Red Dead Redemption, LittleBigPlanet, Gears of War etc. Understand that your questionable taste differs greatly from the vast majority.
