The last decade of the 20th century was something of a golden era for Square RPGs. And thankfully, many of them have been finding their way over to the PlayStation Network recently. 

So let the flood continue unabated. Final Fantasy V is coming to the PlayStation Network. 

According to the European Square-Enix Members website, Final Fantasy V will be coming to the European PlayStation Network as a PSone Classic, just like Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX did. Unfortunately, no release date has been announced, and there's no information on if or when it will be released in North America. 

Final Fantasy V was originally released on the Super Famicom in 1992. It didn't find its way to North America or Europe until 1999, when it was released via the PlayStation collection known as Final Fantasy Anthology. In 2006, Final Fantasy V was again made available, this time on the Game Boy Advance.

I'd probably be more interested if it didn't cost 10€ (I really don't see it costing less). And if I didn't own the original PS1 version already :)

my favorite SNES FF. But I own it twice. Once on psx and GBA. And sometimes play it on computer.

If it's not improved. I wouldn't buy this. The PSX version had crappy load times. It's the worst version imo. It has 1 or 2 pretty CG's. But you could just watch them on youtube and not be annoyed by bad load times for 30 hours.

So they just released VI on the Wii VC and now they're releasing V on PSN. O_o What's up with the inconsistency? Hopefully those dreadful loading times won't exist anymore. I've been meaning to play V for some time now but I'll wait until after E3 to see if SE aren't remaking it. >_<

Well remakes of 5 and 6 will be probably be made they already did 1 2 3 and 4. Also, playing a SNES game with load times is annoying when the SNES didnt have them.

Not really interested in watching 10 mins of added CGI cutscenes - would rather they made a complete overhaul in the dialogue, because FF5 had much lacking in the way of character development. but gameplay wise it was very good.

Isn't it being remade completely though? O_o
