Is your external HD format FAT 32?

Yup, it has to be formatted to FAT 32

How can I do that? what about all my info? O_o is gonna get erased.... FML! u.u

You could just copy all the info from your external HDD to your PC if you have enough space, format the external HDD and copy everything back to the external HDD.

You could also download EASEUS partition master free edition, create a new partition in your external HDD and format that partition to FAT32.

ha I'm pretty sure I've read lots of articles where hackers currently work to get NTFS support on PS3 consoles.

Easiest way to do it is on a Mac because then you can format as much HDD space as you want into FAT32. On Windows you can only convert 32GB to FAT32 (hence the 32 in FAT32) unless you download a special piece of SW like swissknife.

If you don't know anyone with a Mac then you can simply go into any Mac retailer/re-seller (perhaps the retailer you bought the HDD from) and ask to use one of their display Macs to do the format conversion. That's what I did.

If you download EASEUS partition master, open the program, select the partition you want to format (make sure it's the right one), right click on it, select format. A small window will open with "Partition label: ", "File System: " and "Cluster Size: ". You can leave Partition Label without writing anything, in File System select FAT32 and leave the Cluster Size in its default option. Click on OK, and then go to "Apply".

The partition I use for my PS3 is only 30 GBs (I only use it for backing up the whole system and I delete all installed data, demos and videos before backing up to make it faster) so I don't know if you need what the other guy said to make bigger-than-32GBs partitions in FAT32. I don't want to format anything to check if it can be done with partition master :P.
