Forums - Nintendo - I'm not buying this 3D thing

I did expect them for a while until I realized what jerks they were being. But how does this change the fact that I will not support them due to this? It seems to just bolster my reasons.

They had stupid resons for either not supporting the Wii or for withdrawing their support. Thus they will not get my support.

I'm totally pessimist about most publishers, but then I shouldn't buy games anymore, or very few of them. So I support good games and good developers, hoping that if enough gamers do the same, publishers eventually get the message. And this about any platform, not necessarily Wii, as I  am a PC gamer and I haven't either a Wii or other recent consoles, although I understand Wii users can feel more offended than others by 3rd parties. If you think about it, though, PC is in a radically different position from consoles, if we stretch things up to consider MS PC's "1st party", then 1st party is almost irrelevant and 3rd parties overwhelming, and this presumed 1st party isn't by any means the best PC dev, so not supporting 3rd parties on PC would be suicidal for a gamer. I can still punish particularly offending publishers, though, as I can become stricter than usual when buying their games and accept only exceptional games from them. So actually, even not arriving to your radicalness, I can get close to it if they make me angry.

I'll buy it when the games interest me, NSMB 3DS (the sidescroller, not that 3d game that is going to flop) would be one of those games, Advance wars would be another

I agree (in general) that 3D is not that big of a feature, but I think people are focusing on the 3D aspect of the 3DS and ignoring every other feature. The Cameras, motion controls, slide-pad, higher resolution touch screen, larger and higher resolution "view" screen, increase in processing power, and improved online system all combine to making the system better. You can turn the 3D off and the 3DS is still a dramatically better gaming system than the DS in almost every way ...

While this is true it is also somewhat of a disappointment when the main aspect of the system is supposed to be the "3D" part.

I personally just think that the 3D is the most marketable new feature of the system, not necessarily the main feature ...

The slider pad is (in my opinion) the best approximation of an analogue stick ever produced on a portable system; but it really isn't something you could build a marketing campaign around. The cameras and motion controls make AR possible, but (while AR is cool) AR is not something most people understand at this point in time; and it is something people have to try to understand. Improved screen resolutions and better graphics are things that most people understand, but they tend to be features that don't really evoke a significant response from people.

It's called 3DS afterall. One would normally think that it's either 3D or nothing. As for me I'm not that into 3D either so I will wait for a price cut after a couple of years maybe.

we are not arguing that 3d is not supposed to be the selling point or that its not the huge draw/feature/ect.

what we are saying, and i mean we as in those who actually own the system and not those that never picked one up and are bitching about 3d being stupid.  We are saying that if your so ANTI-3D, then turn the 3D off.  Or is the graphics just SOOO outdated for you, you have leveled up to NGP level as the weakest you will put your eyes to the torture of witnessing.  Anything less graphics and you'll go blind.

the 3ds has great games announced and comming out for it, and also some good launch games right now for it.  if you so hate the 3d, we are saying you can turn it off.  of course reading your posts its obvious you have no idea what 3d even is.  you guys are still stuck on the amusement park's 3d where they throw shit out at the screen at you to scare you, ect.

well whatever. i'm goign to go back to waggling my controller and watching shit fly at my face, later.

For the love of...Epic has never supported Ninty, like never. Why still be bother by this?? Are they supposed to kiss the butt of Ninty because...because there ninty??? Please. EA cant defend them especially after that NFS Hot Pursuit, shouldnt have even made it, but hell some poor bastards bought it anyway. But they've been doing dumb crap on HDs as well. Capcom, really the same Capcom that charges 5 dollars for costume packs. The same Capcom that said that RE4 would stay GC exclusive and has since been released on 2 other platforms?? You believe anything they say??

3rd party are exited about publishing in 3D. So even if you dont like 3D.

Where going to get a butt load of great games.

1. I already stated it was the BS that Epic says about Nintendo, not that they don't make games for it.

2. Capcom had sales of their games to prove RE4 would work on the PS2. They also had sales for Wii games to prove RE5, or an RE4-like game would work on the Wii, and they refused to follow that up (Darkside Chronicles doesn't count, since it follow the stupid "So an FPS sells a million, a TPS sells a million, and a rail shooter sells a million, clearly Wii owners only want more of the latter" mentality).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
