I agree (in general) that 3D is not that big of a feature, but I think people are focusing on the 3D aspect of the 3DS and ignoring every other feature. The Cameras, motion controls, slide-pad, higher resolution touch screen, larger and higher resolution "view" screen, increase in processing power, and improved online system all combine to making the system better. You can turn the 3D off and the 3DS is still a dramatically better gaming system than the DS in almost every way ...

While this is true it is also somewhat of a disappointment when the main aspect of the system is supposed to be the "3D" part.

I personally just think that the 3D is the most marketable new feature of the system, not necessarily the main feature ...

The slider pad is (in my opinion) the best approximation of an analogue stick ever produced on a portable system; but it really isn't something you could build a marketing campaign around. The cameras and motion controls make AR possible, but (while AR is cool) AR is not something most people understand at this point in time; and it is something people have to try to understand. Improved screen resolutions and better graphics are things that most people understand, but they tend to be features that don't really evoke a significant response from people.
