Wouldn't it be nice to see high quality games like Bioshock, Grand Theft Auto 4 and Call of Duty 4 on the Wii?

They will never take the wii seriously, look at the 3rd party attach rate on the wii compared to the ps3.

The Wii is what it is. If the type of games you want to play are XBOX 360 type games, you're gonna have to buy a 360.
I say be happy for what the Wii does. It's an awesome system already. It's not going to have EVERY game. Then again, the PS3/360 aren't going to offer what the Wii offers, either.

I think Red Steel was at least one good serious third party game, but when sales increase wii will get third party support
its silly to compare third party support on the wii to the PS3 or especially the 360, they both have a tiny amount of first party support so obviously the majority of the market is going to be 3rd party.
You could ask when will the PS3/360 get the first party support like Zelda, Mario, Pikmin, ChibiRobo, Battalian Wars, Kirby, Metroid....and so on. I dont think the Wii has anything to worry about.
Third partys are beginning to take note anyway, Square have some interesting projects and we have already seen solid games such as Zack & Wiki, Elebits and so on. The Wii is still very young and has a strong catalogue already, compared to the usual drought a machine has in the first 12 months.
3rd parties have already begun to take the wii seriously, and it will only continue. Mario and Sonic, the Resident Evil games, Guitar Hero, the Rayman game(s if the second does better than it has); heck, i'll even throw in Dragon Quest Swords, which has sold 500k in japan alone - these games show the third parties that if you build it, wii will come.
I think there are probably many Wii exclusives unannounced but in development; probably more than either 360 or PS3 (including multiplats, but not combined). January and February will probably be a pretty good time to be a Wii owner, with all of the released-in-2008 games that i expect will be announced then.
Please, PLEASE do NOT feed the trolls.

1) WiiFit will outsell the pokemans.
Current Status: 2009.01.10 70k till PKMN Yellow (Passed: Emerald, Crystal, FR/LG)
For the most part you end up having a 18 to 24 month development time on most major games on the Wii (as compared to 24 to 36 months for a PS3/XBox 360 game). If you go back 24 months ago analysts and third party publishers were positive that the Wii would sell less than 24 Million consoles in its lifetime, and 18 months ago (after E3 2006) third party publishers just started to have doubts about the eventual success of the PS3 and the eventual failure of the Wii. 12 months ago third party publishers began to think that they could be wrong about the Wii, and today they're certain that they're wrong.
Since the Wii launched, third party publishers have been scrambling to get Wii games developed; every month the average quality of these games has improved and the quantity of these games has increased. For the past 4 (or so) months we have seen very few ports get truely botched and the original games that are being released are actually worth playing (on some level).
I think that by this time next year there will be an equal number of high quality third party exclusive games as there is high quality Nintendo published games being released on a given month.

Says who? If we get the last 2 big third party games AC and Cod4 we see that AC sold:
360 = 1,940K and the PS3 = 1,130K
and CoD4 sold:
360 = 2,251K and the PS3 = 1,010K
Now, if we look at the last big first party titles (Mass Effect and Uncharted), we get:
ME = 810K
Uncharted = 409K
Since 360 has about 2x the user base of the PS3 this numbers show about the same attach rate. So I'm not sure where you getting your numbers from, but it surely can't be from VGC.
