in UC elana was drakes love interest  .... there you go, all caught up.

You don't need to, but playing through the first one I think enhances the entertainment of the second. You see old characters returning, already understand the motivations and traits of the characters, and see the evolution of the gameplay and graphics.

Also, Uncharted: DF is a damn good game.

elana is the love interest for the 1st game and is replaced for most of 2. the ending though, gives him his true love interest.  :)

try amazon for uncharted 1. it should be cheaper on there for u man.

not really, I played uncharted 2 before I played uncharted, the only thing you'll miss out are past connections and a few jokes

Uncharted 2 is a really great game, dont get me wrong, but I've always contended that the single player in Drake's Fortune was superior.

But as other's have said story wise, nah, you're good.

You should play the original for two reasons:

1) It fills in a few story and character details that help make U2 an even more enjoyable experience.

2) After playing through the absolute clunky and horrible crap that is U1, you will instantly fall in love and jizz all over your pants when you play the gloriousness that is U2.
