When all is said and done what will the 3DS sales level off to?
Will it always be number 1 ever week like the DS was?
What will it sell in each region?
Will it be the top seller in every region?

in japan it will level off to 45k a week, In europe 45k a week, and in america 50k a week. that is, until some quality games like zelda and pokemon come out. When zelda comes out I think it will start picking up to about 170k a week. and should boom this christmas. I'm not getting a 3DS until I know pokemon (main game) is coming for it...
I'm curious to see how long the $250 MSRP will last personally. Until the 3DS has a respectable catalog of games that take advantage of specific 3DS features (beyond the obvious 3D effects), it's quite a bit harder for the average gamer to justify paying that much, particularly if they just bought a DS within the last year or two.
Sales rates will adjust after the first drop in price, whether that happens a year from now or with the first hardware refresh, which will probably be closer to two years from the Japanese market debut.

Any direct answers to these questions would simply be playing the guessing game as there really isn't a definitive way to predict long term consumer adoption of the platform, which in turn depends largely upon the quality of software support. If third parties have a tough time getting decent ROIs on their initial offerings, it may be first party Nintendo games that are largely driving hardware sales as higher profile third party titles are scaled back budget-wise.
It may be a forgone conclusion to simply assume the 3DS will follow the exact same sales patterns as the DS did throughout its product cycle.
