Well according to their 2008 forcast for the Tales franchise Xyrax there are NO PS3 or 360 Tales games in development but lots of DS and Wii and one for PS2 and one for PSP.  I mean they gave the 360 a chance with Eternal Sonata and it was a huge money sink.  It has a chance to sell on the PS3 still, but their forcast shows no plans for the PS3 or 360 in 2008 and this has been confirmed for a 2008 release.  It basically can't be on either system.  

I really loved Tales of Symphonia. It's my favorite GameCube RPG (but that isn't a hard goal to achieve since there are no RPG's on GCN). But I am honestly sick of all these new Tales games. If they don't sell well, then why continue on?

Well Tales never really pushed the graphics bar too often. Actually the only recent game on any platform I can think of doing that was Innocence, so I don't think we'd have seen SMG quality either way. How quickly the game is being released isn't saying too much either since Namco allocates the games between at least 3 different teams. Whoever's working on Vesperia has most likely been working on it since Abyss was released (...Team Symphonia!?)

 

I have ToS for my Cube... never popped it in yet... Maybe I should eh? Sounds like we'll get 2 awesome games from Namco this year at least!

I'm assuming we've yet to find out what platform this will be on. Well we know from the charts its either PS2, PSP, DS, or Wii. And judging from teh graphics it pretty much rules all out but PS2 and Wii. And really I don't know if PS2 could handle it.

My bets are still with Wii for a few reasons. 1 why would you only put one tales game on the Wii. Why limit the number of the biggest userbase in Japan, when you can expand. Secondly userbase of course. Thirdly, already a big following from Symphonia.

I mean people are still suggesting PS360 or something along those lines, but really up til now, did anyone even think they were ever going to get a Tales title haha. It didn't fit Namco's previous outlooks, nor did it fit anything. Nor do the graphics really fit things you see on PS360.

So I always leave the option open for PS360, but right now reality is in favor of Wii.

Cell Shaded? Serious? Well, that's always welcome. Haven't got Innocence yet, still has to be shipped, no idea why its taking so freaking long, but Tales of Tempest is kind of Cell Shaded as well. No idea why this game hasn't released in the West yet, its a pretty solid game. I only wish to see a 2D Tales of game again, like Tales of Eternia, Legendia, Rebirth, etc. Indeed, except of Tales of the Abyss and a Tales of Symphonia, the Tales serie has never focussed on Graphics. Games are mainly focussed like Dragon Quest was... on Gameplay. @Zucas, geez, get real. I own a PS3 as well and it freaks me out that there are such a low amount of RPG games available on it. Why the heck are people not allowed to think it will hit the 360 / PS3? To show your hate like that against 360 / PS3 owners is really sad.

I wouldn't call what Lucas said hate because I (somewhat) agree with what he said. PS360 isn't impossible but not very likely at the moment.

Well all I know is that I can't wait until Tales of Vesperia comes out. I am a Tales fanboy, it is my favorite video game series of all time and I own every game except for the first 2 gameboy spinoffs. I love them all and whenever a new Tales game comes out, I go freaking crazy. I think that I am the biggest American tales fan ever, no offense guys. lol. I hope that Vesperia comes to Wii because I love my Wii and I can't wait until I play Tales of Symphonia 2 if it comes out over here. I also don't care if they milk the series because there are multiple teams working on them.
