Early Nintendo projections for 3DS were around 1.5 million units shipped before fiscal year ending March 31.

2 weeks before that date the 3DS has sold 742,244 units so it will end up selling around 850,000 units when the fiscal year ends.

Honestly it's been a very disappointing launch, fortunately it will be easy to turn things around but Nintendo made amateur mistakes, the biggest their launch game Nintendogs cats. A game with a very tired formula and on top of it its predecessor underperformed in Japan regarding Western sales.

was that japan or WW cause the 3DS launches in the states march 27th which should post at least a half million that week.  can't remember when the euro launch, is that coming before the fiscal year as well?

on Friday.

Mines already been dispatched as well! :D

Where did you get yours? I'm getting mine off amazon.co.uk, they haven't dispatched yet and I doubt I'll get it since they will most likely be out of stock for ages.

Are you guys really susprised by Nintendogs And Cats less than expected sales?

I mean they betrayed dog fans and added catz. Cats ruined the games sales potential, cats are to blame.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

the gaming world seems to be doing okay in japan despite the disaster, I expected much less this week.

Cats do not rule, Nor do they sell games as much as dogs (as proven by Nintendogs plus Cats...the cats have ruined sales potential!)

Nor do they smile at you

Nor would they give their life for you (see lassie)

Nor do they scratch you for no reason whatsoever

Nor do they stare in an obnoxious way (dogs stare in a cute way)

Nor would they give their life for you (see lassie) ( so if you die they raise you up?)

Nor do they scratch you for no reason whatsoever ( they can';t they have blunt nails, and my cat only plays :P)

Nor do they stare in an obnoxious way (dogs stare in a cute way) ( I love it when my cat stares at me) LOL

splinter cell tanked...bad timing for a release I guess..or is this the normal numbers for the franchise?

anywho another week. wii still < 10 k...Horrible numbers

PS3 is settling down to the usual around 25k numbers this week without releases. Wonder if it will go even furthure down next week

how much sc conviction sold in Japan?

Like I said a few times,  the media is blowing up the disaster....People here were more worried about Japan than the Japanese theirself..

You are right about Troy. Earth Seeker won't be doing too hot either although both of them were at the Famitsu's most wanted list (at the very bottom)

I wanted to wait for confirmation on Deca Sports 4 and Disaster Report 4 cancellations, if they indeed have been cancelled, then I'm gonna have to erase them from the list I keep on updating.

Nintendo is gonna have to publish Western 3rd party games in Japan if anything, since there are almost zero Japanese 3rd party games coming out. Andhaving to publish western games is simply terrible. Nintendo will be having a tough year in Japan.

Earth Seeker is going to bomb so hard.  Really sad, because the game itself looks completely awesome and way better than the majority of MoHun clones.  I think if it had followed about six months or so after MH3 it could've been big, but releasing on Wii now, after the core have basically abandoned it, the MH base has retreated back to PSP wholesale, and y'know the literal DISASTER and all... it won't be good.  I kinda wonder if it wouldn't make sense to kill/delay the Wii release and try to rework it for 3DS instead/in addition like they are Rodea?

Irem themselves announced the DR4 cancelation, it's 100% dead.  The Hudson stuff was in this week's Famitsu (some old NowPro PS3/DS and Konami Wii game listings were officially canceled too), but no word from (what's left of) Hudson themselves yet.  Really sad situation with Hudson, especially since they were actually pretty profitable this gen and not in trouble at all.  The fact that a shithouse like Idea Factory lives while Hudson essentially dies is so totally unfair.

Nintendo's in for trouble, but if they really need some quick 3rd party content, I think they should bring back the New Play Control line and give it focus on 3rd party stuff.  Wii reissues of stuff like Tales of Symphonia, Gotcha Force or Phantasy Star Online I&II might not be the most exciting thing, but they're better than nothing and I could see plenty of Japanese 3rd parties jumping in since there's literally almost no costs involved.  Wii needs filler, and this would be a pretty easy and attractive option for it.
