Forums - Nintendo - IGN: Nintendo 3DS Review

seems to  harsh to me, if it really has a 2.5h battery life when on full 3d that would be an issue, i think it looks best with slider half way anyways

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Seems ok. The 3d sure isn't a 7.5 out of 10 but the motion sensing and sliding pad probably helped bring it up.

@cyberninja45  but you still have to be in a perfect condition in either case. if your in a plane or car and hit turbulence or a speed bump your going to lose that effect

If someone were to pass infront of u while u watch tv. u lose the 'effect' of the tv also.

But Nintendo don't make TV's, so they can't troll the TV.

rating systems before out is just dumb, they should be rated after at minimum a year

btw anyone know other ign scores?

i couldn't find original psp score, but saw ps3 got a 6/10

also 2 hours? i have yet to see ANYWHERE else state anything less than 3 EVER.

was this 2 hours off the original "half-charge" that the battery came like when he opened box?

Ummmm no. They have to rate the system so people know what they are getting before they buy it. Much like a game.

GAMES make the system

here take your favorite games on the ps3 and move them ALL off the PS3 and make them 360 exclusives now.  Which system is better now?

now what did 360 change?  nothing, it didn't get slimmer, it didn't get more ram, bigger harddrive, quieter, sleeker, ect.  It just got a bunch of great games.

The only thing worth reviewing a new system on is reviewing their Launch Lineup.

But if the PS3 games were on 360 they would have worse graphics and need extra discs. The hardware allows good games, good games don't make good hardware.

You do know PS3 got a 6/10 from IGN, logic does not exist for that site. He was just point out how stupid it is review hardware. Also good games do make or break the hardware, you could have the best technology, but if you have no support, it will be game over.

Here are some other scores from IGN:

DSi - 7.8
DSi XL - 7.5
PSP 3000 - 7.0
PSP Go - 7.2

So it's not that bad.

Take the RROD out of a 360 , does it become more desirable?  I know a lot of people who didn't get one for that reason.  Hell, put BC back in PS3's, more desirable?  I think people should be warned about hardware just as much as software.

heh.... leave it to 3rd party to solve the battery issue as usual of course. http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/09/nyko-solves-your-3ds-battery-concerns-with-power-pak/

From the feedback here, I here a lot of people complaining about the 7.5 score for a platform, yet the score is not changing anyone's mind who preordered it.

FFS, IGN has been wrong before and will be wrong again. Wrong being defined as how you review the experience after it is said and done compared to how IGN reviewed the same experience.

It is one score and a meaningless one at that. The only score that matters is whether you buy it and if you are satisfied with it.

IGN's score is one that is constructed to both give it a fair shake and to attract site hits. Thus forth, it is biased like any individual opinion with a more sinister undertone of degrading it somewhat to piss people off to view IGN and complain on IGN.
