You could just take the $500, if that really is the limit to what you can get if you choose to get a console instead.

If you already have a 360 I say get a PS3. More bang for you buck. However the older 360 premiums are known to fail and the Elites are much better built. I can tell you this, the grass is always greener on the other side.
@astrodust,
how in the world is the ps3 more bang for the buck??? if there is one thing you can say about the ps3 it is that its not worth the price, and thus less bang for your buck, hence the slow sales. but the main reason what you said doesn't make sense is that you said since he has a 360 he should get a ps3. since he has a 360 that means he can already play a lot of the good games that will ever come out on the ps3. why blow his prize money on a system that is close to the same system he already has. get a wii and he can have a completely different library of games and a whole different experience all for a cheaper price which means he can actually pick up some games as well with that 500 bucks. getting the ps3 would be a similar experience to what he already has. so get a wii!!
end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million, 360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million

Sorry I wasn't very clear. I thought that maybe if the he could get a system worth up to 500 dollars he should get a PS3. But if the total value of his prize is 500 dollars, meaning he could pick up games and extra controllers, then he should get whichever one he likes more. I have a Wii and 360 so I am biased. I would get a PS3 to complete my collection.
I would say get the PS3 if you allready have a 360 ... it has IMO a good library and it will get only batter :)
Vote the Mayor for Mayor!
'We will reimburse you in January'
You'd be lucky to find a Wii by January in the US of A to be honest. I definately say Wii (as you can buy games as well by the looks of it and you seem to have little interest in the PS3) so you'll have to ask what happens if you can't happen to find a Wii.
Oooh, get a DS actually if you don't have one, easier to find and many many brilliant games with a good slew coming next year as well.

if u can try to get a 60gig ps3, if not then try the 80 gig. The wii is hard to find but it is also very cheap when compared to the ps3.
Get a Elite, sell your old console and get a Wii. :)

And you can't make cake without batter.
If you only want a PS3 for 2 games, it doesn't sound like it has much payoff for you. Unless you're nuts about HD movies, I guess.
If you go Wii, you should be able to pick up at least four games to go along with the system for that $500 budget, plus Sports. Sounds sweet. The tough part will be finding a Wii.
Finally, you could pick up a new 360 with a couple games and sell your old, unfried one. Use that money to fund more gaming goodness.
