Square Enix said today that Dragon Quest IX has topped shipments of 5.3 million units worldwide. The figure was reached at the end of December.

DQIX is the first DQ game to top the 5 million mark and the best selling DQ game ever. The series as a whole has topped shipments of 57 million units.

Since Wii is unfortunately a dead system in Japan if Dragon Quest X doesn't make it this year it will be a big mistake to release it on this system, in my opinion it will have to be moved to 3DS.

A) Dead is an overstatment.

B) There are 11 million wiis in Japan.

C) It's not like there have been systems that have been selling worse that sold a game at impressive numbers and boosted sales.  Heck, there have been worse selling consoles this generation that have done that.

DQ is in that rarest of franchises of "Will do it's numbers no matter where it is."

They could release DQ 10 on Gameboy Advance and it'd do 4 million .

It is not overtracked, 5.3 millions shipped mark was reached by the END OF DECEMBER 2010. Today it's 17th Match 2011 and obviously Vgchartz numbers for DQIX are higher than that mark now.

Can you prove that even 1 millions are in use? No, so...
