Review embargo lasts until 5PM EST. I think that is 11PM over there in the UK.
Just found out the embargo lifts sometime this afternoon. I'm guessing 12pm?

You have to be kidding.

I already responded to you. I saw where it said embargo gets lifted at 5PM EST which I think is 11PM UK. I may be wrong but who knows. I will say these review embargos for games is getting really annoying. It seems every big release has been getting a review embargo lately.

One review says it sits besides the most technically sound games of the gen (the one you commented on - last one), but none of them say it's the best looking game on consoles. I'd wait for the bigger review sites though. |
Well if its tied with the best looking games on consoles then isn't it the best looking game on consoles?
Crysis 2= A Killzone 3=B Every other game =C
If B>C and A=B then A>C
Well, if crysis 2 does end up being called as the best looking game on consoles, then it would have to be the biggest difference between the demo code and the retail code ever.
I can't wait for the reviews myself. The attack of the fanboy review talks a lot about gameplay so it might be worth checking out.

COD is a bit of a stretch, but I don't know what you're seeing that makes you think this isn't incredibly linear. I've played it at both E3 last year and GDC this year, and trust me, this is no Crysis. Halo: Reach is very linear too, but this is even moreso. Understand that even if it were the size of Reach, the design of Reach is very linear. You rarely have more than one way to approach any situation. See, in the first Crysis you'd come into an area with an enemy base and you could completely choose how you assaulted that base. Angle, stealthiness, hop the wall, break the front door. All 360 degrees around that base were available to you. In Crysis 2, you come into a clearing, and there are things to fight, and that's it. That's how it works. Making a slightly more wide-open space than COD is not an accomplishment, nor does it change that the design is linear, when you're limited to a linear approach. Yes, you can stealth, but it's still just suit powers thrown into a Point A to Point B straight line shooter. You're not going to be able to come up with clever plans and traps for your enemies. |
You say something very different from people who have played the entire game. Ive read several early playthroughs who talk about changing AI, and vastly different ways to navigate the game.
Mainly all this from PC Beta players. And if anyone would critcise the game surely they would???
OK. Fond out officially the embargo lifts in 1 hour and 7 mins. 1600 GMT. It's currently 1453 GMT.

Ugh no summer time yet in the UK, still an hour until it's 4pm in the UK for the Eurogamer review.
No luck with the demos so far.
360 demo -> not allowed to play on silver account.
ps3 demo -> pulled before I had time to try it
pc demo -> pulled too? can't find any servers.
Anyway the multiplayer intro movie didn't look like anything special blown up to full size. It always looks better as a small you tube video.
