Of course Gamecube is underrated. Anything that gets last is always going to get underrated. I think the perfect current example would be the PSP. Fact of the matter is Gamecube had a lot of top tier quality games, and owners will know that. It just gets underrated because the parts that people that didn't own it, only noticed it's flaws and of course that would be a majority. Otherwise Gamecube was a great game machine that had some of the best games of the last generation.

Is PS2 overrated? Nope. Largest game library, had a good price, had online, alot of quality games that were exclusive, and a lot of features. It deserved everything it got.

My question to all is why are we even talking about software? :P I'm talking about the hardware itself, software all comes down to opinion, like Happy said he preferred the "key" games of the gamecube, which I personally thought were horrible >_>;, In terms of HARDWARE I'd say the PS2 was HORRIDLY over-rated, of the three consoles it's specs were by far the worst lol, I liked it more than the Gamecube sadly because it could play DVD's, but if it didn't have that feature I'd probably have gone with an xbox.

Ps2 is a bit over-rated but deserves it.
Gamecube abit better than what people claim (they say shit so GC is crap).

ps2- rated fine.
xbox1- It was essentially the "halo box" seeing s how there was nothing worth playing besides that. ms has done a good job this gen though.
gamecube- It was purple and shaped like a purse. Rated perfectly.

yes and I think the XBox was overated too.

GameCube is my favorite console of the 6th generation.

Well said HappySquirrel. I do think that the GC was underrated. The PS2 could be seen as overrated, but it was deserved. It had a huge selection of games.

As for me, I don't think I'm overrated. All the love I get is well deserved :)

I think the GameCube was severely underrated, the PS2 (although I'm not a very big fan of the games on it) deserved what it had (and I suppose still has) going for it, but the Xbox was fair at best.

I actually like Microsoft as a company (most people in Seattle do), but the Xbox quite simply suffered from a lack of games. The only games I have for it that aren't either racers or football is the Halos, and to be completely honest, the Halo franchise isn't as great as it's cracked up to be. That said though, I'm glad Microsoft entered the console race, because whether you like them or not, you have to admit that they changed a lot about how consoles were made. Look at the 360, now that's a solid console, and it doesn't suffer from the lack of games the original did.

Also, whoever said the GameCube was a purple purse, mine's black, and it looks much, much better than either my PS2 or Xbox does (or my Dreamcast for that matter).

The PS2 was perfectly rated for it's first couple years of life, it's the idiots who still thought it was the best system ever after 5 years that disturb me.

The Gamecube was also well rated, it was a mediocre system with a mediocre library and so it deserved its mediocre rating.
