Very sweet...I love how people are taking the Wiimote and doing things that it wasn't even made to do. Makes me hope for the future of games.

Perhaps some 2 player split-screen could be possible?

That would be pretty tricky. Each player would need his/her own wiimote to track his/her own head, and they would have to be far apart so the IR light sources don't show up on the other player's wiimote and confuse the system.

Possible, but too tricky to be practical, I think.

Also, ZOMG4DGRAFIX!

I don't think that would be a problem, it shouldn't be hard to match each IR dot to each person, both by tracking each person's dots and by calculating the distances between each pair of points in case several dots go from being invisible to being visible either sequentially or simultaneously. Knowing the relative position of each person also has to help. A simple but clever algorithm should be enough to solve that problem.

I'm gonna download that program and try to get a virtual fish tank going on my monitor...that'd be sweet.

This would be interesting with an Endless Ocean type game.

It really would be perfect for a game lke that!

Amazing!!

i know i already posted here but i just got the thought of playing myst with this tech, i totally just pissed myself.

How's this grab people - this tech in Nintendo's next hand-held device. You slap on the goggles and have at it, perhaps some motion sensitivity included, it could be fun but people might start falling off train platforms in greater numbers.

The ending is a lie(its far more immersive than anything else we've seen in homes today).

The ps eye is still more virtual reality like than that.

Also, Thats pretty cool

2008 year end sales (made in January 2008):

44.2 M 27.1 M 20.8 M

its incredible the possibilities that nintendo have opened up without even knowing it. This guy has probably reversed the whole idea behind the wii and made something new and unique, its just a shame that a solo configuration is not what nintendo are thinking of.
In a 1 player scenario, this could absolutely be 'next generation', far beyond the trivial HD garbage that MS and Sony are feeding the public.

Miyamoto said we wouldn't believe the kinds of games that we'd be getting from our wii 5 years from now. Maybe he knows the possibilities inherent in the wii's technology, but I agree that this beat's the hell out of waggle. They could package it with a game with the headset and a stand for your wiimote and just explain that you need to put the wiimote where the sensor bar is, and BAM....that would be TRUE next gen gaming.
