As mentioned exclusive means, "limited to the objects OR OBJECTS designated." Notice the plural?

This thread is indeed about sales. That's why its only the top sellers are on it. Also, since this thread is focusing on 360 and PS3, the games people can buy on 360 but not PS3 should be noted.

And PS3 does have big franchises as Halo, GT 5 and prologue both have sold relatively well. MGS4, God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 have also sold well, around 4 million that is awesome considering its been like a year since GoW and 1 1/2 since Uncharted 2?

Apart from Gears and Halo 360 doesn't sell that many exclusives either, they are usually bundled like forza 2 and 3. Kinect sports did sell well though.

Head start is one reason why 360 has more overall software sales and in turn more exclusive sales. By the time this gen ends I am sure Sony will have more comparable exclusive game sales.

None of those games you mention has sold anywhere near what Halo 3 has sold, let alone Reach. Untill ps3 gets a 10 million seller it has no franchise as big as Halo.

GT5 has been out for less than 4 months and your comparing it to Halo 3!

At the end of the day GT5 will outsell Reach mark my words. I gurantee you by the end of the year GT5 will sell at least 2-2.5 million!

Well maybe I didn't make it clear. But I was sorta saying PS3 had an even bigger advantage than a 1 year headstart. It had the advantage of being a Playstation. Had Sony not weighed it down with price, it would have outsold the 360 and you wouldn't be using the excuse of a head start.

I'm looking at the Halo franchise as a whole this gen. So far Halo accounts for 27 million games sold on the 360. In the end the Halo franchise is gonna sell over 50 million games on the 360. Assuming we see atleast one more major Halo game this gen. No Sony IP has ever accomplished that. Therefore Halo is bigger than any IP Sony has.

You forgot to mention Fable is a great selling series. Forza 3 sold almost 2 million in its first 10 weeks and over 3 million without bundling. So even without bundling Forza is bigger than IPs like Killzone, Resistance, Infamous, etc. Other MS IPs have had modest sales. But not everything Sony puts out is a big seller either.

GT5 needs to sell almost 2 million more copies to reach Reach (lol).  Keep dreaming, I find it funny how people are doubting Halo selling power you dont mint 200 million day one, to fail to a game that was suppose to push ps3 to almighty victory agianst xbox ( LOL)

 forza series should still be in there as well as halo wars,plus kinect adventures,banjo kazooie:nuts and bolts,alan wake,splinter cell conviction , mass effect 1.

ps3 should have : heavy rain,demons souls,killzone 3,infamous,sports champions. 

360 exclusives do sell better,i think its mainly due to better marketing job m$ does for there games , than sony does. 

either way both supporters of the systems have some great choices too play.

I read what you wrote. Thread is about sales but only exclusives' sales. Gears1, Fable III and others are not exclusive  to the 360 in any way since they are (or will) be playable on a PC too.

Exclusive by definition can be plural. And more importantly, people will be playing it on 360, PC, but not PS3.

GT5 will likely be bundled at some point. That's really the only way it can outsell Reach.

but do ps3 gamers HAVE to own a 360 to play it. So if a ps3 owner can indirectly add to sales of a game not available to the ps3 without EVER touching a 360 that game should count for 360???
