NMH is going to bomb in NA and Europe (much like it did in Japan). SSBB will sell well but it's still just to the Nintendo hardcore so it'll be just another Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3 (Nintendo fans expecting it to sell far more than it actually will).

It's a fair guess. I mean... all Suda 51 games bomb. They're great stylized games that only cater to a niche hardcore audience. This MAY be the game that suddenly reaches out and grabs everyones attention, but then again it may not. Suda is just one of those designers that has a "GTA 3/FF7" breakout written all over him... it's just a matter of finding the right game, right market and right advertising to pull it off. I'd put the chances of what people at this site would consider a bomb 80%, It doing well 15% and it being one of those big megablockbusters selling 2-10 million copies at 5%. For their expectations though, I expect about a 70% chance of the game performing how they would like. I'm sure they and Nintendo actually expect significantly less then what we expect. People on this site for some reason expect good games to sell... even when they are either niche in genre or niche in developer.

From a sales standpoint, I don't see how Endless Ocean could ever, ever be included in a discussion. The game looks "neat", but how much it'll sell....Probably ~100k in the US.

IMO, I think the X360 will easily have the most 500k and 1m sellers of that lineup for Jan/Feb.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I agree. The topic wasn't about sales though. It was about what lineup you thought was the best quality wise. Personally I don't even see Endless Ocean as neat. I just don't "get" that game.

If you're talking who has the 'better' games coming out, it's clearly the 360 since they have almost all of the PS3's list plus some. (Too much shovelware on the Wii.) But if you're asking who will own the start of 2008, Wii's momentum and pre-sales of consoles will continue to lift Nintendo for at least a month or two (if not more). Then the hype starts up for Wii Fit and SSBM...

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

VGChartz Resident Thread Killer

360 imo.

wow just cause wii has smash bros and no more heroes does not mean it has the best start, the rest of its lineup sucks

360 has the best followed by PS3 and then Wii

If we are talking about best start then the question is focused on which console will have the best sales sustaining software, that is the Wii, face it, whether you care for the games or not, Wii is going to keep selling like gangbusters thanks to games which appeal to the nongamers, Wii fit is selling out constantly in Japan, expect big sales in the West as well, and then Mario Party nine will be out in the summer which will be another major sales boost.

Kart will also be huge considering how well the DS version sold and that the GCN version was one of its biggest sellers, and SSBB was the other big GCN seller, so expect high sales on the Wii.

whetehr you like the games or not is irrelevant, in terms of sales sustainment, Wii has the lead

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
