Also some stuff you should think about getting are Kinect Adventure, Kinect Sports, and Dance Central.  All great fun especially with a room full of friends.  Also Xbox Live Arcade is filled with tons of awesome gems.

It is worth owning an xbox 360 for just a very few things, and I won't even count Kinect.

1) Gears of War.  I still play it online and its ancient.  Thank god the new one is coming soon and they are getting the multiplayer beta out so early they should have all the bugs worked out on release date.

2) Halo.  I know its not a lot of peoples cup of tea but Reach is spectacular.  And if you haven't played the series before going back and picking all the other titles up won't cost you an arm and a leg.

3) Fable/Alan Wake.  Both are really really fun, and Alan Wakes story is fantastic.  

4) Xbox has a  lot of  downloadable content that you can buy on live that is very fun and you can catch a lot of great deals if you look for them.

Metro 2033 was one of the more underrated games released last year.

Alan Wake is one of my favorite games this gen.

Halo: Reach is a must buy.

Fable 3 is a good game, not as good as Fable 2, but still a good game non the less. I would just buy fable 2 now and wait for Fable 3 to be cheaper.

SC: Conviction was pretty damn  fun. The single player was short, but sweet. Spec-ops with a friend is a blast.

Deadly Preminition is considered a cult classic. I would check it out.

Crackdown 2 was a fun game. Wait till it's cheaper if you decide to buy it.

I really liked Fable II but I still think Fable III is better... more realistic if that makes sense for the type of game haha
