First of all, sorry, I don't know how to add a poll, the feature is missing, so you'll just have to answer in a post.

Here's the numbers:

Call of Duty: Black Ops (360)

1st week: Americas - 4,028,788 ; EMEAA - 1,781,907 ; Japan - 31,487

Total: 5,842,182


Pokemon Black/White

1st week: Japan - 2,609,129 ; Americas - 1,926,738 ; EMEAA - 742,912

Total: 5,278,779

i swear thats the number of preorders? and any way its day one so could of sold 2mil  and for emeaa i think it will sell around 700-1 mil.

1.08 million is for US alone. It doesn't include Canada and Mexico.

Edited the OP with Nintendo's newest info. Looks like it could be done, although it will depend on EMEAA and that's not too encouraging ;)

Still, it could end up being the second biggest opening of all times.

Based on these info I'd say VGC might be overestimating of about 100-150k.
