I'm confused, didn't U2 max out the PS3? ._.

What does that even mean?

It might have maxed out the PS3 in terms of processing power but you could still make a game better in terms of graphics etc by using the power more efficiently.

If Drake's Deception improves on Uncharted 2, real life will look last gen

Uncharted 2 looks better. Just compare the clothes for instance.

Actually something looks to be wrong in these Uncharted 3 screens. They look bloated and plain suck.

To make that fair, you need to find an early Uncharted 2 shot (and one of it's worst ones). Otherwise, that comparison is horribly flawed.

Yes but the first batch of shots from Uncharted 2 were just as good as any. Looked just like that above screen.

Right there.

Does anyone else think Drake just doesn't look right in the screenshots for U3?  Like he's retaining water.  His head is a lot squarer than it was previously.

Always up to game.

So the prerendered cutscenes look better but the real graphics look worse.

ND needs to sort da priorities out

Well they did.

There's a plausible explanation for all this. It's the 3-D graphics.

A designer guy from ND in a gametrailers interview recently said that 3D in Uncharted demands essentially twice as much rendering power (those were his almost exact words) and they had to develop tricks to deak with that. So there definately has been a penalty to performance and decrease in image quality to get the game to support 3-D.

The initial batch of Uncharted 2 screens were just about that good:

However, there was one shot from a later batch of screens that I doubt any game will ever top:
